1. How can my child qualify to attend SummerGATE?

We accept eligible students on a first-come, first served basis. Students who have not previously attended SummerGATE need 85% (total battery) on any standardized test for admission. OR, If your school has not tested its students yet, your child's teacher may sign our Recommendation Form (found on page two of the Elementary School Registration Form) or write his/her own brief recommendation letter confirming that SummerGATE is an appropriate program for your child.

2. How do I apply?

First, choose classes by reading through the class descriptions for your child's grade level.

Registration forms can be found here. Carefully complete the registration form, including all contact information, and a clear indication of class choices for each time slot. Be sure to let us know if you need Before- and After-School Activities, and if your child needs to take our bus from the upper school to the lower school site for After-School Activities in Session II. Then, calculate tuitions to determine the total amount due.

3. When is registration?

Registration for SummerGATE 2008 has begun and will continue until all classes are filled.

Allow 1-2 weeks processing time. You will receive a confirmation by email (this is fastest - be sure to indicate a current email address on your application form and make sure that confirmations@summergate.org will get through your Spam Filter), or US mail. If for some reason we can't complete your application as it is (e.g. a class you wanted is closed) we will contact you.

5. How can I speed up my application?

The longest delays are caused by errors and omissions. Read the class descriptions very carefully when choosing classes.

• Is the class you are requesting being offered in your youngster's grade level (for Fall 2008)?
• Is it being offered at the time you are requesting?
• Is it being offered in the Session you are requesting?

Next, proofread your application thoroughly. Look at every line to make sure that you have provided all of the information requested. Don't forget to write your email address very clearly, as email confirmations arrive the quickest.

Lastly, tell us what your 2nd Choice Classes are now, in case one of your first choice classes fills before we get to your application. Don't wait until we contact you to pick an alternate, as other classes may fill before we are able to get in touch with you.

6. Is it possible to register on-line?

Not yet. We do not have encryption for credit card numbers, so we cannot accept on-line registrations. You can download the Registration Form and fax it, mail it, or submit it in person.

7. How can my child qualify for a Merit Scholarship?

In order to qualify for a Merit Scholarship, you must submit the appropriate documentation with your registration materials. Please click here for information on what documents are required.

8. Do you offer any financial assistance to help with SummerGATE tuition?

Yes. A limited amount of Financial Aid is available for needy public school students.
